HAMILTON (Mercer) — A police chief from Burlington County now facing DWI fees in Mercer County was lying down in the street behind his pickup truck, keys and cellphone strewn nearby — as seen in body camera footage from the April arrest.

The video reveals what occurred after police caught up with Bordentown Police Chief Brian Pesce, who was been charged with crashing his vehicle and fleeing the scene earlier in the night.

The truck’s driver-side door was flung open as Hamilton law enforcement officials arrived on April 22 to see Bordentown Police Chief Brian Pesce, lying on his left aspect near the curb behind his Chevy Silverado.

Pesce has been on restricted responsibility until further discover pending investigation outcomes as he faces costs for 5 traffic offenses.

Pesce disputes that he had been driving, saying “No one was driving.”

He was promoted to chief in 2018, after 20 years with Bordentown police, following the resignation of disgraced former Bordentown Police Chief Frank Nucera.
