EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) - Police say they arrested a driver who was 3.5 times the legal alcohol limit after a minimum of 5 individuals known as 911.
Officers say the calls started coming in around 4:40 p.m. Monday.
They are saying witnesses reported seeing a SUV hit the median of the Lloyd Expressway close to the Principal Street exit. They are saying the crash brought about a flat tire and the automobile to smoke, but the driver kept going.
Other callers say the motive force was all around the highway and now lacking a front tire.
They are saying he eventually stopped at a automobile dealership and appeared “super drunk.”
Staff told police the motive force, 30-year-old Jordon Mattingly, was attempting to promote his SUV.
Police say he had swelling and scratches as if he had just been in a crash.
They say Mattingly smelled of alcohol and nearly fell several instances. Officers say he tested .291 on a transportable breath test.
Police say inside his SUV, they discovered 4 Loko cans and a can of White Claw.
Mattingly is dealing with a number of prices.
He's the son of the supervisor for the Miami Marlins and former professional baseball player, Don Mattingly.
