Talking within the dugout of the Nice American Ballpark in Cincinnati, Ohio, Kapler stated, "I don't plan on coming out for the anthem going forward until I feel higher in regards to the path of our nation."

I wish that I might have demonstrated what I discovered from my dad, that once you're dissatisfied along with your nation, you let or not it's known by protest. The house of the courageous should encourage this."
