Talking in the dugout of the Nice American Ballpark in Cincinnati, Ohio, Kapler said, "I don't plan on popping out for the anthem going ahead till I really feel better concerning the course of our country."

In a weblog post, Kapler questioned whether the country's leadership is committed to representing its people's greatest pursuits and whether or not america is really "the land of the free and the house of the courageous."

"We weren't given bravery, and we aren't free. The police on the scene put a mother in handcuffs as she begged them to go in and save her kids. They blocked parents making an attempt to arrange to charge in to stop the shooter, including a father who realized his daughter was murdered while he argued with the cops. We aren't free when politicians resolve that the lobbyist and gun industries are more necessary than our children's freedom to go to school with no need bulletproof backpacks and active shooter drills," Kapler wrote.

Later, Kapler wrote about his disillusionment with what he called "the lack of supply of the promise of what our national anthem represents."

"I'm not okay with the state of this nation. I want I hadn't let my discomfort compromise my integrity. I wish that I may have demonstrated what I learned from my dad, that while you're dissatisfied along with your country, you let or not it's known via protest. The house of the brave ought to encourage this."

Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr made an impassioned plea to take stronger motion towards gun violence in america.

Kerr refused to speak about basketball ahead of Sport 4 of the Warriors' series in opposition to the Dallas Mavericks, as a substitute raising his voice as he railed against gun violence within the wake of Tuesday's taking pictures.

"Within the last 10 days, we've had elderly Black folks killed in a grocery store in Buffalo, we have had Asian churchgoers killed in Southern California, now we've got children murdered in school," Kerr told reporters firstly of the press conference.

"When are we going to do something? I'm drained. I am so bored with getting up right here and providing condolences to the devastated households which might be on the market ... I am uninterested in the moments of silence. Sufficient."
