Man arrested in reference to “college shooter” signs found in 3 New Hampshire communities

BARNSTEAD, N.H. -- A man was arrested Friday after a number of indicators saying "school shooter" had been found in Barnstead, Epsom, and Pittsfield, New Hampshire, the state's Division of Safety announced. Man Hanson, 61, of Pittsfield, faces multiple fees. 

An increased quantity of cops have been placed at faculties within the communities as a result of the signs. Multiple schools initiated lockdowns as a precaution shortly after.

Hanson allegedly placed the indicators around the communities, the Department of Safety mentioned, but they decided there isn't a credible risk at the moment.

One such sign was written on a paper plate. The safety department launched a photograph of the plate however blurred a part of it "to protect the integrity of the investigation." 

Hanson was arrested on a felony cost of prison threatening and three misdemeanor charges including false report to regulation enforcement, false public alarm and felony threatening. He's being held in Merrimack County Jail pending a hearing scheduled for Tuesday.

No other suspects have been charged at this time.
