BARNSTEAD, N.H. -- A man was arrested Friday after a number of signs saying "school shooter" have been present in Barnstead, Epsom, and Pittsfield, New Hampshire, the state's Division of Safety introduced. Guy Hanson, 61, of Pittsfield, faces multiple expenses.

An elevated amount of police officers have been placed at colleges in the communities because of the indicators. Multiple schools initiated lockdowns as a precaution shortly after.

Hanson allegedly placed the signs across the communities, the Division of Safety stated, however they determined there is no credible threat presently.

One such signal was written on a paper plate. The security department released a photograph of the plate however blurred part of it "to guard the integrity of the investigation." 

Hanson was arrested on a felony cost of criminal threatening and three misdemeanor prices including false report to regulation enforcement, false public alarm and felony threatening. He's being held in Merrimack County Jail pending a listening to scheduled for Tuesday.

No different suspects have been charged right now.
