BARNSTEAD, N.H. -- A man was arrested Friday after a number of signs saying "college shooter" had been found in Barnstead, Epsom, and Pittsfield, New Hampshire, the state's Department of Security introduced. Guy Hanson, 61, of Pittsfield, faces multiple costs.
Man Hanson. New Hampshire State PoliceAn increased amount of cops had been positioned at colleges in the communities as a result of the signs. Multiple colleges initiated lockdowns as a precaution shortly after.
Hanson allegedly placed the indicators across the communities, the Department of Security said, however they determined there isn't a credible risk at the moment.
The New Hampshire Department of Security is investigating indicators that read 'school shooter!' which had been present in a number of communities New Hampshire Division of SecurityOne such signal was written on a paper plate. The safety department released a photo of the plate however blurred part of it "to protect the integrity of the investigation."
Hanson was arrested on a felony cost of felony threatening and three misdemeanor fees including false report back to law enforcement, false public alarm and legal threatening. He's being held in Merrimack County Jail pending a listening to scheduled for Tuesday.
No different suspects have been charged at the moment.
