Man arrested in reference to “college shooter” signs present in 3 New Hampshire communities

BARNSTEAD, N.H. -- A person was arrested Friday after a number of indicators saying "college shooter" have been present in Barnstead, Epsom, and Pittsfield, New Hampshire, the state's Division of Security announced. Guy Hanson, 61, of Pittsfield, faces a number of costs. 

An elevated amount of law enforcement officials were positioned at schools in the communities as a result of the indicators. A number of colleges initiated lockdowns as a precaution shortly after.

Hanson allegedly positioned the signs across the communities, the Department of Security mentioned, but they decided there is no credible risk presently.

One such sign was written on a paper plate. The protection division released a photograph of the plate however blurred part of it "to protect the integrity of the investigation." 

Hanson was arrested on a felony cost of prison threatening and three misdemeanor prices including false report back to regulation enforcement, false public alarm and felony threatening. He's being held in Merrimack County Jail pending a listening to scheduled for Tuesday.

No other suspects have been charged at the moment.
