Nashville Public Library launches ‘Freedom to Learn’ marketing campaign

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — It is a matter that is taken maintain in Tennessee: books like "Maus" or "Walk Two Moons" have been pulled from shelves.

"Our job is simply to make sure that if you would like it, it's right here for you," stated Public Info Officer for the Nashville Public Library, Ed Brown.

Those are just a few of the two million different supplies on the Nashville Public Library.

"All of us watch the TV reveals that we like; we all watch the different sports or root for the completely different groups we're a part of," said Brown. "Books are no different."

The goal is to get the 5,000 library cards in the palms of new sign-ups this month.

"We aren't trying to be a push back — a force pushing back in opposition to these selections — we want to be an alternative to say, in case you may not be capable to get it there... you may get it right here," said Brown.
