Russian spy aircraft violates Swedish air area

A Russian reconnaissance aircraft briefly violated Sweden’s airspace on Friday, Swedish protection officers stated on Saturday, as the Scandinavian country ponders a bid for NATO membership after Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
“A Russian AN-30 propeller airplane violated Swedish airspace on Friday night,” the Swedish protection ministry mentioned in a statement, including that its groups had followed the incident and photographed it.
The ministry mentioned the plane was flying east of Bornholm, a Danish island in the Baltic, earlier than it headed towards Swedish territory.
“It is totally unacceptable to violate Swedish airspace,” public television SVT quoted Protection Minister Peter Hultqvist as saying.
“This action is unprofessional and given the overall safety state of affairs very inappropriate. Swedish sovereignty should always be respected.”
