Sheriff claims deputies didn’t search lacrosse team’s personal items, physique camera shows otherwise

LIBERTY COUNTY, Ga. (WTOC/Grey News) - An incident that involved players from a university’s lacrosse workforce and deputies in Georgia remains under investigation.

WTOC experiences Delaware State College President Tony Allen launched a press release on Monday responding to the incident that reportedly occurred on April 20 in Liberty County.

Allen wrote Georgia law enforcement stopped a bus for a minor site visitors violation with the Delaware State Lacrosse workforce on board. Deputies searched the belongings of the student-athletes, including suitcases with drug-sniffing canine.

The staff was returning house from a recreation in Florida and traveling by a contracted bus, in accordance with Allen.

Liberty County Sheriff William Bowman held a information conference about the incident but took no questions. He claimed that no private items on the bus had been searched.

Allen wrote that everyone was incensed over the incident.

Allen also added the following:

“We don't intend to let this or some other incident prefer it go idly by. We are ready to go wherever the proof leads us. We have video. We now have allies. Maybe more considerably, now we have the courage of our convictions.”

Allen concluded his assertion by writing, “We are going to by no means be bullied into believing anything other than what we're: People, learners, academics, builders—helpful and honorable individuals ready to soar.”
