Talking in the dugout of the Nice American Ballpark in Cincinnati, Ohio, Kapler stated, "I do not plan on coming out for the anthem going ahead until I feel higher about the course of our nation."

"I am not okay with the state of this country. I want I hadn't let my discomfort compromise my integrity. I want that I could have demonstrated what I discovered from my dad, that whenever you're dissatisfied along with your nation, you let it's recognized via protest. The house of the courageous should encourage this."
Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr made an impassioned plea to take stronger motion in opposition to gun violence in the US.Kerr refused to talk about basketball forward of Game 4 of the Warriors' sequence towards the Dallas Mavericks, as a substitute elevating his voice as he railed against gun violence within the wake of Tuesday's capturing.
