Drunk driver crashes, heads straight to dealership to attempt to sell broken automotive with lacking tire

EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) - Police say they arrested a driver who was 3.5 instances the legal alcohol restrict after at least 5 people called 911.

Officers say the calls began coming in round 4:40 p.m. Monday.

They are saying witnesses reported seeing a SUV hit the median of the Lloyd Expressway near the Foremost Street exit. They say the crash brought on a flat tire and the automobile to smoke, however the driver stored going.

Other callers say the driver was all over the street and now missing a entrance tire.

They say he ultimately stopped at a automobile dealership and appeared “tremendous drunk.”

Workers instructed police the driving force, 30-year-old Jordon Mattingly, was trying to sell his SUV.

Police say he had swelling and scratches as if he had simply been in a crash.

They are saying Mattingly smelled of alcohol and almost fell several times. Officers say he tested .291 on a conveyable breath check.

Police say inside his SUV, they discovered 4 Loko cans and a can of White Claw.

Mattingly is facing a number of charges.

He is the son of the supervisor for the Miami Marlins and former skilled baseball player, Don Mattingly.
