The policy, disclosed in leaked emails Musk sent to Tesla's executive employees Tuesday, was first reported by electrical automobile information site Electrek.
"Anyone who needs to do remote work should be within the workplace for a minimum (and I imply *minimum*) of 40 hours per week or depart Tesla. This is lower than we ask of manufacturing facility staff," Musk wrote, including that the workplace have to be the employee's primary office where the opposite staff they recurrently work together with are based — "not a remote department office unrelated to the job duties."
Musk said he would personally evaluation any request for exemption from the coverage, but that for essentially the most part, "For those who don't present up, we are going to assume you will have resigned."
