Uvalde police, college district now not cooperating with Texas probe of shooting: Sources

The Uvalde Police Department and the Uvalde Independent School District police drive are no longer cooperating with the Texas Division of Public Safety's investigation into the bloodbath at Robb Elementary College and the state's evaluation of the regulation enforcement response, a number of law enforcement sources tell ABC Information.

The Uvalde police chief and a spokesperson for the Uvalde Independent School District didn't immediately reply to requests for remark from ABC Information.

According to sources, the choice to cease cooperating occurred quickly after the director of DPS, Col. Steven McCraw, held a information conference Friday during which he said the delayed police entry into the classroom was "the improper determination" and opposite to protocol.

Reached by ABC Information, a spokesperson for the Texas Department of Public Security stated, "The Uvalde Police Division and Uvalde CISD Police have been cooperating with investigators. The chief of the Uvalde CISD Police offered an initial interview but has not responded to a request for a follow-up interview with the Texas Rangers that was made two days ago."

Final Tuesday's attack, one of many worst college shootings in U.S. historical past, left 19 children and two adults dead.
